CORFU. Update on the work being done by the Everyday Life Department of Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Municipality.
The Everyday Life Department of Central Corfu Municipality has been carrying out maintenance work in Corfu Town and other districts.
The work includes school maintenance, beautification of public green areas, repairing pavements, filling in potholes, cleaning and maintenance of street lighting.
More specifically, plumbing, painting, metal and wood work etc have been done at the following schools - the Technical high schools, primary schools in Agios Ioannis, Pelekas, Agios Prokopis, Gastouri, Spartyla, Gouvia, Gardelades, Kanalia, Kyra Chrysikou, the 4th, 6th and 11th primary schools in town, the 6th Junior High, Ano Korakian Nursery, Kato Korakiana Nursery and the 3rd Childcare Centre.
Broken slabs are being replaced in pavements in the Old Town and in Capodistrias St. in particular. Potholes have been filled in Kokkini, Pelekas, Potamos, Agios Prokopis, Alepou and Kanalia. Signage is being put up at danger spots on the roads following the weather damage in places such as Ano Garouna and Kanoni.
The Green Service is continuing to prune trees in the Upper Square and trimming dangerous old trees in Bosketto, Mantouki, Anemomylos, Garitsa shore road and near the airport. Work is also being carried out Eptanisou St. in Flaginio and the cemetery, Yiannades, Temploni, Skripero and Tria Gefiria.
Electrical maintenance and replacement of lamps is being carried out in Corfu Town, Skripero, Kinopiastes, Temploni, Marmaro, Kouramades, Benitses, Ano Korakiana and Alepou.
