CORFU. The Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Municipalty proposal has been approved by the ΄Philodimos II΄ programme.
Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Municipality has been given approval for the purchase, construction, transportation and installation of bus shelters - either as replacements or new installations - with a budget of €133,470. The Municipality will have the responsibility of carrying out the work.
36 bus shelters will be put up to give protection to the public in adverse weather conditions.
In addition to providing protection against the weather, the shelters will provide safety, comfort and accessibility for wheelchairs. They will have sufficient lighting, digital information signs and space for information to be posted.
€100,000 will be funded by the Ministry of the Interior and the remainder (€33,470) will be covered by the Municipality. The deadline is 31 December 2021.
The project is part of the Municipality's participation in the '100 Intelligent Cities Challenge'.
