Free bike use available at Old Town Hall Square

CORFU. Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Municipality has announced a new pilot programme to allow members of the public free use of bikes.
The aim is to encourage the use of bikes and create a more new, more human way of life in the town centre.
The bikes are available outside the San Giacomo Old Town Hall from Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 13:00.
Those wishing to use a bike must produce identity (ID card, driving licence or passport) and fill in a form with personal details. The forms are available from the attendant on duty.
The Deputy Mayor responsible for the initiative Chrysoula Tombrou said, "With a bike we can dream of the town that we want - more friendly and human!
We call on our fellow citizens to come and make use of this opportunity and enjoy all the beautiful corners of the town. Discover its hidden secrets and spend your time creatively whilst also getting exercise.
The use of the bike is the most ecological means of transport and contributes greatly to an improvement in the quality of life and the environment that we want in our everyday lives."
