CORFU. Strong British interest has put even more pressure on the investigation into the incident in Lefkimmi. The woman who reported the rape has been found to have bodily injuries.
The police hunt for the 47-year-old man is continuing following the statement from the woman living in the Lefkimmi area that he had raped her. According to reliable sources, the woman has been found to have bodily injuries and police are keen to arrest the 47-year-old and find out exactly what happened.
According to police sources, the woman and her husband met with the wanted man on Thursday night. On Friday the woman was missing from home and her partner reported her disappearance to the police.
A police patrol car found her on Saturday morning and she claimed that she had been raped by the 47-year-old.
There has been strong interest from the British media due to the wanted man's criminal history and the Hellenic Police Headquarters is being kept informed about the progress of the investigation, presumably due to the media interest.
