Life sentence for murderer of 28-year-old Angelina

IGOUMENITSA. The 52-year-old was sentenced yesterday for the murder of his daughter which shocked the whole country in January 2019.
The accused had confessed that he had killed his 28-year-old daughter Angelina with an iron bar and then buried her body in his garden in Alepou, Corfu.
His defence lawyer Vassilis Noulezas cited a temporary impairment of his client's mental functions and the heat of the moment. The Thesprotia Court, however, didn't accept any mitigating circumstances and sentenced him to life imprisonment for murder, 30 months for possession and use of a weapon and also fined him 1,000 Euros. Anappeal was lodged.
