Funding of 20,000 Euros from Ministry of Interior to help prevent spread of virus amongst Roma

CORFU. 20,000 Euros funding for the Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Municipality from the Ministry of the Interior.
The funds are to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Roma settlements. The decision was signed yesterday by the Ministry's Director for Local Authorities and Development Policy and the funds will come from the current year's Central Independent Funds for the provision of equipment and services to deal with the urgent, unforeseen need to take measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
With the money the Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Municipality can fund the following:
- disinfection in and around the settlement.
- educate the Roma population about the consequences of coronavirus
- potable bottled water where needed.
- any other measures deemed necessary by the Municipality to safeguard public health in and around the settlement.
