CORFU. There was a tense atmosphere at the meeting of the Solid Waste Management Organisation (FoDSA) on Monday.
The issue of who gave the order to prohibit an inspection at Lefkimmi landfill following a resident's complaint was brought up by the Mayor of South Corfu Kostas Lessis resulting in his walking out of the meeting. Shortly afterwards the Mayor of North Corfu Giorgos Mahimaris also withdrew.
The meeting continued with the agenda of the day and decisions were taken.
