CORFU. A crew from the town council is replacing the paving stones that have been lifted up by the roots of the large trees.
Just as in other parts of town, a large area of the pavement has been damaged by the huge roots of old trees, which has made it dangerous for pedestrians and there have, in fact, been several accidents.
With the help of an agronomist from the Municipal Green Services, who is showing them how to deal with the large roots without harming the trees, the work crew is removing the old paving stones and repaving the area.
