More fines from Municipal Cleaning Services
CORFU. The new year began with 46 fines issued by the Municipal Cleaning and Recycling Service for violations of sanitation regulations.
(Central Corfu Municipality) The new year began with 46 fines for violations of the Sanitation Regulations, imposed by the Cleaning and Recycling Service.
• One fine for the disposal of bulky items on pavements, roadways, or other public spaces
Fine amount: €300 per violation – doubled in the event of a repeat offence.
• Two fines for the disposal of leaves, dried flowers, and garden or lawn cleaning waste, which were discarded loose rather than placed in bags or light bundles up to 80 cm in length
Fine amount: €150 per violation – doubled in the event of a repeat offence.
• Three fines for placing waste outside containers or for disposing of waste without the prescribed packaging
Fine amount: €100 per item, bag, or package.
• One fine for disposing of waste outside designated recycling bins by businesses and shops
Fine amount: €100 per item, bag, or package.
• One fine for failure to minimise the volume of waste generated by food-service establishments, wholesale businesses, supermarkets, retail shops, etc.
Fine amount: €400 per item, bag, or package – doubled in the event of a repeat offence.
• 38 fines for parking in front of waste containers, resulting in obstruction of waste collection
Fine amount: €200 per violation.
A reminder that the following are strictly prohibited:

The disposal of bulky items in public spaces, on pavements, or on roadways.
Residents are requested to contact the Municipal Service Request Hotline (26610 24444) to register a request for the removal of bulky items from their residence (2–3 small pieces of furniture), or—if transport is possible—to deliver them to the Green Point on Eptanisou Street (Tria Gefyria area).

The placement of any type of waste outside containers.

The parking of vehicles in front of waste containers or on road markings that prohibit parking near containers.
Waste collection outside nighttime hours is also carried out during the day and at any time deemed necessary.
We kindly request the understanding and cooperation of residents so that access of refuse trucks to waste containers is not obstructed during collection.
