Caution! Subsidence on Achilleio Road

The Regional Administration has issued an urgent notice regarding the damage that has occurred on the Achilleio Ring Road. The announcement states:

"Recent severe weather in Corfu has caused significant damage across several points of the road network in Corfu. Reported issues include potholes, minor landslides, and general weakening of the road surface."

Particularly on the Achilleio Ring Road, about one kilometre after the Ponti junction in the direction of Gastouri, subsidence has occured in the road, which requires increased caution from drivers.

Crews from the Ionian Islands Regional Authority, in collaboration with private contractors and the necessary equipment, are working continuously to repair as much of the damage as possible. The adverse weather conditions are significantly hindering the progress of the works, but the effort continues with the safety of the public as the top priority.

Drivers are asked to exercise special care and, where possible, to limit their movements until the situation stabilises.
