ATHENS. Also at the exhibition - Bourtzi Castle in Nafplio and the redevelopment of the Thessaloniki International Fair with its relocation outside the city.

The Achilleion Palace and the Asani building in Old Town Hall Square are two of the properties being put forward for development by the Hellenic Corporation of Assets and Participations (HCAP) and the Public Properties Company (ETAD). According to the news website Alphavita, these Corfu properties were among those presented in Cannes at the MIPIM international real estate exhibition. In fact, the Achilleion Palace was included in the list of twenty selected properties for promotion.

At MIPIM, one of the largest international real estate events, which concluded yesterday, other properties showcased included the Bourtzi Castle in Nafplio, the redevelopment of the Thessaloniki International Fair, the Achilleion Palace, Thermopylae thermal springs, an OMECH property in Tavros, and the Kalamaria marina.

The list also features 129 stremma in Poseidi, the Asani building in Corfu Old Town, the Tae Kwon Do property, as well as the ski resorts of Parnassos and Kaimaktsalan.

Just last November, Corfu Deputy Minister of Shipping, Stefanos Gikas, following a government meeting, announced funding for the restoration of the Achilleion Palace, which is now being promoted on the real estate market. He stated that the restoration and enhancement of the Achilleion complex, with a new total budget of €13,640,000 (including VAT), would be implemented under the “Strategic Significance Contract Development Programme” by the Strategic Contracts Unit of the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund. For this major project, it was decided that ETAD S.A. would fully cover the budget with its own resources.

Meanwhile, a large-scale initiative is underway to document, categorise, assess, and prepare 36,000 properties from ETAD’s portfolio. This project, jointly carried out by HCAP and ETAD following board approvals, represents one of Greece’s largest real estate mapping and management efforts. Its goal is to streamline ETAD’s portfolio and optimise the use of public assets. The next steps involve announcing and executing the first tenders.
