Reinforcements are expected to arrive at DEDDIE so that the crews can deal with the numerous and scattered faults that occurred in the power grid across the entire island due to the severe weather. According to DEDDIE sources, damage in South Corfu was also caused by the tornado near the Attica Hotel, which passed through the area and struck substations, poles, and wires. This is why there was a power outage in Lefkimmi, Argyrades, Neochoraki, Moraitika, and Benitses.
There were also outages and problems caused by fallen trees on the power network in Sinarades and Avliotes.
As a result of the power outage, there was also a water supply outage, since the water facilities were left without electricity and the pumps stopped operating. According to company sources, DIADÉYAK crews are also on alert.
According to Civil Protection sources, in areas where rock slides occurred, crews rushed to the scene and reopened the roads by afternoon.
