Car falls into sea – driver escapes unharmed

CORFU. A crane immediately arrived at the scene to retrieve the vehicle from the harbour bed.
A car plunged into the sea at Corfu Port on Friday morning under circumstances yet unknown. Fortunately, the driver managed to keep calm and escape from the vehicle before it became fully submerged. He was later brought safely ashore and, according to initial reports, is in good health.
A crane was quickly dispatched to the scene to recover the vehicle from the bottom of the harbour. The operation was carried out with the assistance of two divers, who guided the crane to ensure the car was securely fastened before being lifted out of the water.
Corfu Central Port Authority has launched a preliminary investigation to determine the cause of the incident.
