Boy, 14, seriously injured in scooter fall
CORFU. The 14-year-old was transferred to Athens and is being treated in the ICU at Agia Sofia Children΄s Hospital, where he remains intubated.
A 14-year-old pupil suffered a severe head injury in a serious accident involving an electric scooter.
According to reports, the incident happened on Sunday when the boy, under circumstances that are still being investigated, lost control of the scooter and fell onto the road. He was initially taken to Corfu General Hospital, where doctors determined that he had suffered a brain haemorrhage and an epidural haematoma.
Doctors immediately proceeded with emergency surgery to treat the bleeding. Due to the seriousness of his condition, it was deemed necessary for him to be transferred to a specialised paediatric hospital.
The 14-year-old was airlifted to Athens and is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit of the Agia Sofia Children's Hospital, where he remains intubated and under close medical supervision.
