Temporary suspension of refuse collection in South Corfu

CORFU. Until Sunday 12 October.
In an announcement issued on Friday evening, the Municipality of South Corfu informed residents of a temporary suspension of the waste collection service.
According to the official statement, due to an unforeseen issue, refuse trucks will not carry out their regular routes until Sunday, October 12. The Cleaning Service is expected to return to normal operation, with refuse collection resuming on the morning of Monday, October 13.
In view of this three-day pause, the municipal authority kindly appeals to all residents to show understanding and to limit waste disposal in bins as much as possible. The aim of this measure is to prevent overflowing, which poses risks to public health, through the creation of infection sources, as well as to the environment.
“The understanding and cooperation of everyone are essential for the smooth resumption of the waste collection service,” the Municipality’s announcement concludes, stressing that residents’ contribution is crucial to maintaining cleanliness in the area.
