CORFU. The Lefkimmi Society is planning protest action against the licensing of the landfill in the south.
The decision was taken at the open meeting the Society held on Saturday to discuss the operation of the landfill. It was decided to take the symbolic action of closing the Messonghi Bridge on Thursday morning.
The Society’s announcement:
We are going to meet at Lefkimmi Regional building on Thursday morning at 9:30 and will then block the Messonghi Bridge in protest at the illegal operation of the landfill by the Municipality and Region. We call on all Lefkimmi residents, organizations and businesses as well as any other interested Corfiots to take part in this action.
