CORFU. Following the incident at the colonnade of the Old Palace and their subsequent arrest, the five women will remain in custody until Monday, when they will give their statements.

The five women who were arrested yesterday for the pole dancing incident at the Old Palace have been remanded in custody.

The arrested individuals were taken to the Corfu Courthouse on Saturday afternoon and were granted a postponement until Monday to give their statements, as requested by the defence. However, the request for release under restrictive conditions (the surrender of passports) was not granted.

The prosecutor and the investigating judge decided that their temporary detention should continue until their statements are given.

According to the defendants’ lawyer, they do not accept the charges against them. He also stated that the location for the photo shoot was suggested by the women's photographer, and the women were unaware that they were doing anything illegal. He stressed that the photo shoot was for personal use and that they would not gain any financial benefit from it.
