Disruption at airport following discovery of suspicious object

There was disruption at Corfu Airport on Monday morning, May 19th, after a suspicious object was detected in a passenger’s luggage during a security check before boarding the morning flight to Athens.

The man was isolated in an office by airport security, and a bomb disposal expert was called to the scene. The terminal was evacuated, but after inspection, it turned out to be a power bank the passenger had in his luggage.

In the end, he was allowed to board the plane, as were the other passengers, without any significant delay to the departure for Athens.
