Man, 38, arrested for attempted homicide

CORFU. Domestic violence incident.
A 53-year-old woman of Georgian origin went to the police station in the early hours of Wednesday, February 19, specifically to the Domestic Violence Unit of the Corfu Police Department, reporting that she had been abused by her 38-year-old husband.
According to her statement, the man beat her, causing bodily harm, attempted to suffocate her with a pillow, and threatened her.
A few hours later, officers from the North Corfu Police Department arrested the 38-year-old, who was charged with attempted homicide, domestic violence, bodily harm, and threats.
The arrested man was brought to appear before the Corfu Prosecutor, and after criminal charges were filed against him, the case was referred to the Investigating Judge.
