Bank employees on strike Wednesday 28 February
CORFU. "We are sending a loud message and are determined to fight. Bank employees will gather at the Workers΄ Centre at 11 in the morning."
The Corfu branch of the Hellenic Federation of Bank Employees' Organisations (OTOE) has announced that they are uniting their voice with that of all workers and pensioners.
"We are all participating in the strike on 28 February called by OTOE.
We are striking because, for the third consecutive year, workers are faced with a sweeping wave of austerity that drastically erodes our purchasing power and undermines the quality of our lives.
The government's narrative of high costs allegedly coming from abroad has long collapsed. We are experiencing daily the greed of the market, which is turning our daily lives into a relentless battle for survival.
We demand a return to normalcy with the complete abolition of Ministerial Council Act 6/2012, without the selective retention of any provisions.
We are advocating for substantive collective agreements that meet the needs of our time.
