Foreign national arrested for selling imitation goods
CORFU. Police investigated the matter after receiving reports.
A foreign national was arrested yesterday evening, 4 October, for selling imitation goods.
Following up on a complaint received, police carried out an inspection at a shop on the outskirts of Corfu Town, where the foreign national was temporarily in charge, it was found that she had a total of 41 imitation goods for sale.
A case has been filed against the arrested individual and the owner of the shop, who is currently being sought, for the crime of counterfeiting and for violations of trademark laws, unfair competition as well as regulations regarding the sale of products and the provision of services.
The case filed against them will be forwarded to the Corfu Prosecutor and the products have been confiscated.
