Applications for fire damage compensation from 1 to 14 August
CORFU. A team of the Hellenic Agricultural Insurance Organisation (ELGA) branch in Ioannina visited the affected areas in North Corfu Municipality (Loutses, Peritheia, Lafki, Sinies, Kassiopi, Nissaki).
A team of the Greek Hellenic Agricultural Insurance Organisation (ELGA) branch in Ioannina headed by the head of the branch Mr. Ioannis Papayiannis, the head of the assessments department Antonios Piliafas and the head of the assessments office Apostolos Efthymiou came to Corfu on 31 July.
The team visited the affected areas in North Corfu Municipality (Loutses, Peritheia, Lafki, Sinies, Kassiopi, Nissaki) so that, in cooperation with the responsible municipal employee, the applications for fire damage compensation can proceed quickly and the procedures for the assessment of the damage caused by the recent fires can follow.
The team met on Monday 31 July with the North Corfu Mayor Giorgos Mahimaris at the Acharavi Town Hall regarding the programme to be followed. Also present at the meeting were the councillor responsible for agricultural issues Yiannis Kaloudis and officials.
On Wednesday 2 August, the head of the State Financial Aid Office Konstantinis Dimitrios, who will give information on the aid, will be added to the team.
The affected producers, farmers and beekeepers must immediately declare their losses to ELGA in order to be compensated with urgent procedures.
The applications for fire damage compensation can be submitted from 1 to 14 August and they will be made at the Acharavi Town Hall during working days, 09:00-13:00. Those interested should have with them their ID card, Tax Number (AFM) and the first page of their bank book.
