CORFU. 23 arrests were made.
On 4 and 5 March police in Corfu, Zakynthos, Cephalonia and Lefkada carried out checks for the following:
361 vehicles and 462 individuals were checked, leading to 23 arrests - 6 in Corfu, 5 in Cephalonia and 12 in Zakynthos - for the following offences:
- 1 for illegal possession of weapons
- 3 for illegal possession of drugs
- 1 with arrest warrant outstanding
- 11 for driving without a licence
- 3 catering establishments for playing music outwith the times allowed
- 4 catering establishments for lack of proper health certificates
There were 130 driving offences, including the following:
- 6 driving under the influence
- Theft and burglary
- Dangerous driving
- Violations of regulations at catering establishments
- Drug dealing

- 9 not wearing seat belts
- 13 not wearing crash helmet
- 2 using mobile phone whilst driving
- 13 without driving licences
- 6 driving on the wrong side of the road
- 6 driving on the wrong side of the road
- 1 with uninsured vehicle
- 5 without MOT
