248 violations in one week in Ionian Islands for not wearing crash helmets

CORFU. Between 14 and 20 July there were 83 cases of riding without crash helmets in Corfu.
During the third week of the police crash helmet campaign, from July 14 to 20, a total of 953 checks were carried out in Corfu, Zakynthos, Cephalonia, and Lefkada. Of these, 248 violations were confirmed for not wearing protective helmets.
The violations were recorded as follows:

Of the offenders, 206 were motorcyclists (157 on two-wheelers, 36 on quad bikes, 7 on Light Personal Electric Vehicles—LPEVs, 5 working in delivery services, and 1 on a three-wheeler), while 42 were passengers.
The campaign, which aims to achieve universal compliance with helmet use by motorcyclists and passengers, is part of a broader effort to prevent road accidents and protect human life. According to authorities, inspections will continue with the same intensity in the coming weeks.
