Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Environmental Department has announced that it WWF has prepared a lovely surprise for Earth Hour on Saturday 27 March. At 20:30 we switch off our lights and tune in to a musical celebration on https://www.wwf.gr/earth_hour/!
Onirama has prepared a special programme of unplugged music and after switching off the lights will be singing and sending their own message for a new start.
Picos Apicos & The Pina Coladas have chosen two of their hits and will be singing in isolation specially for Earth Hour with Maria Papagiorgiou and vocalist Aggeliki Toubanaki adding their support to this initiative.
This year's Earth Hour is an opportunity to come together and send a loud message for the protection of nature and the need for us all, individually and collectively, to make sustainable choices.
Thousands of people in Greece have already registered their participation in Earth Hour and dozens of organisations have responded to the call to switch off the lights for one hour and send their own message.
This year the following will be participating: the Acropolis, the White Tower in Thessaloniki, Rion - Antirion bridge, Athens Concert Hall, Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre, Onassis Foundation, Patras Roman Conservatory, Monemvassia Castle, Amphissa Castle and many municipalities throughout the country.
Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Municipality will be switching off the lights in all the main municipal buildings.
