All tests in Kassiopi and Corfu Town negative. Acharavi pupil tests positive

The schools that will remain closed on Wednesday are the 1st High School, the 7th Junior High and Liapades Junior High. The other schools, which were closed due to the 'Midea' cold wave, are expected to reopen as the island wasn't severely hit by 'Midea' as regards snow.

Following the positive test for a teacher, all 217 tests that were conducted in schools and the village came back negative. EODY continued testing in Corfu Town on Monday and all the results were negative - there were over 100 tests at the hospital and 80 at the Municipal Theatre.

According to the Secondary Education Department, the schools and classes that close due to Covid remain closed for 14 days from the last day that the person who tested positive had contact with other pupils and teachers.

A pupil at Thinalio Junior High School has tested positive. His father also tested positive on Friday and according to the school principal Mr. Glossopoulos, his younger sister is a pupil at the primary school which is in the same building. An announcement is expected after the principal and the North Corfu Mayor have consulted.
