Archbishop Nektarios found not guilty on both counts

CORFU. On Wednesday 21 October the court found Archbishop Nektarios not guilty on both counts - his sermon on 25 March and having more than the maximum number of people allowed in church on Palm Sunday.
On Wednesday afternoon the court found Nektarios, Archbishop of Corfu, Paxos & Diapontia Islands, not guilty on both counts.
The Archbishop was found not guilty in the case of his sermon on 25 March and also of the charges of having more than the maximum number of people allowed in church on Palm Sunday.
The Prosecutor had recommended that he be found not guilty in the first case but guilty with mitigating circumstances in the second case.
The other two facing charges regarding the number of people in church on Palm Sunday, Dimitris Metallinos and Fotis Skourtis, were given 4-month suspended sentences.
