ATHENS. The Greek PM will be chairing a teleconference today at 12:30 following the EODY announcement of 50 coronavirus cases yesterday.

An extraordinary meeting is being held today following the increase in the number of coronavirus cases. The Greek PM will chair the teleconference at 12:30 following the EODY announcement of 50 coronavirus cases yesterday, Thursday.

The Government is concerned on the one hand by the epidemiological situation in neighbouring countries on the northern border and on the other by the seeming relaxation in adherence to measures in Greece itself.

The topic of discussion at the meeting will be the plan for checks at entry points as, according to EODY, of yesterday's 50 cases, 24 were 'imported' and on the previous day 24 of the 33 cases were also from arrivals.

According to information, the Government has a Plan B ready which it will implement if there is a spike in cases. The plan has three stages, according to Proto Thema, which are as follows:

1. Checks on all arrivals at Promahonas on the northern border.
2. Checks on seasonal workers in Greece, mainly from neighbouring Balkan countries.
3. Tests for all arrivals at all the country's points of entry.
