CORFU. FODSA Board majority approval for Tender documentation for Temploni waste facility - North and South Corfu requested postponement, as did Yiannis Trepeklis. The Executive Committee approved the waste transportation technical specifications.

The FODSA (Solid Waste Management Organisation) Board met on Tuesday morning followed by the Executive Committee.

The meeting took place at the office of Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Mayor Meropi Ydraiou, who is also FODSA President. The main topic of discussion was approval of the documentation for the tender invitation for the construction of the Integrated Waste Management Facility in Temploni.

This was a matter for the FODSA Board and then the Executive Committee discussed the technical specifications for the tender invitation for the transportation of waste from the three Corfu Municipalities and Paxos to Kozani.

The first issue - the documentation for the Temploni facility - was approved by a majority vote. Trepeklis, Lessis, Andriotis and Kokkali didn't vote in favour but requested a postponement. Following the approval, the documentation will be sent to the Ministry to look at and then returned to Corfu for further approval - by the Executive Committee this time.

The technical specifications for the invitation for tender for waste transportation were approved unanimously by the FODSA Executive Committee following some amendments proposed by South Corfu Mayor Kostas Lessis.

It should also be noted that following the approval of the technical specifications the financial specifications also need to be approved. This cannot happen before FODSA approves its own budget.

The only member absent from the Board and Executive Committee meetings was the North Corfu Mayor Giorgos Mahimaris, who had unavoidable commitments in Athens.
