Mountains of seaweed in Garitsa

CORFU. Following Storm ΄Victoria΄ which hit the island, the good news is that DEYAK has sent a small dozer to clear up the seaweed that has built up on the pavement and part of the road.
The piles of seaweed were brought by the large waves which also flooded the shore road from yesterday morning - even before the storm escalated later in the day when sections of the road had to be closed off.
The CEO of Corfu Port Authority promised Enimerosi that there would be an inspection to find out the reason for what happened. What happened may even act as a catalyst for the rest of the work on the sea wall and the pavement as far as Anemomylos to proceed. We shall see.
