CORFU. Corfu Port Authority is organizing the kickoff meeting for the SWAN Programme on Friday 22 March.
Corfu Port Authority is the leading partner in the SWAN Sustainable Water Aerodrome Network project (Enhancing regional transport through Sustainable Water Aerodrome Network) which is part of the European Territorial Cooperation Programs Greece – Italy 2014-2020. As such it is organizing the kickoff meeting on Friday 22 March at the Port Authority conference hall starting at 09:30.
The project titled SWAN Sustainable Water Aerodrome Network project (Enhancing regional transport through Sustainable Water Aerodrome Network) concerns the development of a waterway network between Corfu and the southern regions of Italy. Corfu Port Authority will receive funding for the supply of equipment and infrastructure necessary for their operation waterways in the ports of Corfu, Paxos, Othoni, Erikousa and Mathraki.
Included in the infrastructure are small passenger terminals in Corfu and Paxos and prefab kiosks on the other islands, a hangar for hydroplane maintenance in Corfu and floating platforms. Equipment that is necessary for the licensing and operation of the waterways includes Baggage X-Ray machines, electronic security gates, VHF etc.
Corfu Port Authority will receive 1,000,000 Euros funding for equipment and to carry out the necessary work.
