North Corfu: Two arrests for cultivation, possession and trafficking of cannabis

Corfu Drugs Squad arrested two men yesterday (8/6) - a 28-year-old Greek and a 23-year-old Albanian - for cultivation, possession and trafficking of cannabis.

1st case

Yesterday morning a 28-year-old Greek was arrested in North Corfu. In two different houses he had a complete laboratory for the cultivation of hydroponic cannabis (skunk) in the first and cannabis plants outside the second.

Following a search in the presence of a judicial officer the following were found and confiscated:

- 15 cannabis plants
- 27g packages of cannabis
- hydroponic cultivation equipment




2nd case

A 23-year-old Albanian was arrested in North Corfu yesterday afternoon who was found to be in possession of over 4 kilos of cannabis.

He had brought the cannabis into the country via the Albanian-Greek border and kept it in an outdoor wooded area.

In total 5 packages with 4.4kg of unprocessed cannabis were found. The sniffer dog 'Vamma' assisted in the investigation.

Charges were brought against both men for illegal cultivation of cannabis plants, illegal importation, possession and trafficking. They were taken to appear before the Corfu Prosecutor.
