16-month suspended prison sentence for Temploni resident

CORFU. The Temploni resident involved in the incident at Temploni landfill on May 20 was given a 16-month prison sentence, suspended for three years.
The incident occurred during a visit by a team from the town council, led by the Mayor, to the Temploni landfill and led to his arrest.
The trial began on Wednesday morning and ended today, Thursday, with a verdict against the Temploni resident.
Mayor Kostas Nikolouzos was a witness for the prosecution on Wednesday. There were several charges against him - which were brought by the Mayor and Deputy Mayor - verbal abuse, breach of the peace, making threats, attempted bodily harm, aggravated damage and use of violence.
