Man, 28, arrested for stealing from coin-operated car washes
CORFU. Along with two accomplices who are still at large, he stole about €200.
Police arrested a 28-year-old man in Corfu yesterday afternoon, April 19. He is accused of aggravated theft.
Following thorough searches, the 28-year-old was located in the Ropa Valley area and arrested, as on Saturday (18/4), together with two identified accomplices who are still being sought, he removed approximately €200 from coin-operated automatic car wash machines.
As the police investigation progressed, it was established that the suspects were involved in three additional similar cases, which took place on April 12 and 14, as well as on December 7, 2025, in areas of North Corfu and around the island’s town. In those incidents, they removed a total amount of €1,600.
A preliminary investigation into the case was conducted by the Sub-Directorate for the Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes in Corfu, during which a car used in committing the offences was seized.
The arrested individual was brought before the Corfu Public Prosecutor.
