Man arrested for cocaine trafficking
CORFU. 290 grams of cocaine, 2 precision scales and 1 car were confiscated.
(Ionian Islands Police Department) A 53-year-old man was arrested in Corfu on Wednesday afternoon, January 22, for drugs trafficking.
Following up on information received, the 53-year-old was located by Drugs Squad officers in South Corfu. In his possession and in the car he was driving, they initially found and seized a package containing 8 grams of cocaine, as well as 2 precision scales.
Subsequent searches were conducted, including in an outdoor area — an olive grove — in the same region. During these searches, packages containing a total of 282 grams of cocaine were found and seized, which he had hidden at the base of olive trees.
Additionally, as part of the investigation, the car he used for the transportation and trafficking of drugs was also confiscated. The arrested individual will be brought to appear before the Corfu Prosecutor.
