Deputy Minister of Tourism visits Corfu School of Tourism
CORFU. She met with the School Director Thanasis Agriopoulos.
While in Corfu, the Deputy Minister of Tourism visited the Corfu School of Tourism in Gouvia as she is responsible for tourism education.
She met with the School Director Thanasis Agriopoulos and was given a tour of the premises, accompanied by the Corfu ND MP Stefanos Gikas and her partner for years Alexandra Kalaitzoglou, Vice President of the Corfu Hospital's Board.
The main issues discussed were the housing and operation of the Corfu School of Tourism, as well as the School of Tourist Guides which has been temporarily suspended until the Ministry of Tourism finds a solution.
During her previous visit to Corfu last week, the Deputy Minister had promised that the School of Tourist Guides will be reopened as from 2024, while the recruitment of permanent staff is already under way.
Elena Rapti is in Corfu, representing PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis, for the International Festival of Mediterranean Cultures organised by the International Council of Organisations for Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts (CIOFF®), the Ionian University and the Sinies Educational and Cultural Society.
