CORFU. Corfu tourism bodies, who are joining forces for the adequate staffing of the School of Tourism, are looking to meet with the Tourism Minister.

On Tuesday morning they held a press conference solely focused on the School’s issue. The conference was held at the offices of the Corfu Tourist Accommodation Owners Federation.

The President of Corfu Tourist Accommodation Owners Federation Pericles Katsaros, the President of Corfu Hoteliers' Association Babis Voulgaris, the President of Corfu Trade Association Kostas Mouzakitis and the Pressident of AOCTA (Association of Corfu Travel Agents) Spyros Halikiopoulos all spoke on behalf of the tourism bodies.

The reason for the interview was the letter of resignation of the School of Tourism Director Dimitris Bakiras. The School is no longer operating, since no staff has yet been recruited, despite the repeated assurances of the Ministry.

On the other hand, Pericles Katsaros said that the answer given by the Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilias to Corfu KINAL MP Dimitris Biagis’ question was unsatisfactory.
