Green Spots and volunteerism were the subject of heated discussion recently between Municipal Councillors.

Volunteers at Liapades Green Spot issued the following response:

Liapades Cleaning Buddies are proud of what our volunteers and recyclers have achieved for our community.

In the words of Helen Dyer: “Volunteerism is the voice of the people put into action. These actions shape and mold the present into a future of which we can all be proud.”

The Buddies came together to pick up litter in our community. In 2018, we opened the Liapades Recycling Centre to reduce the burden on the municipality's failing waste management system.

Since then, the Recycling Centre has developed and expanded. However, it remains a temporary solution and we have always been, and continue to be, ready to work with others to make sure a permanent and effective system for reuse and recycling is put in place.

Liapades Cleaning Buddies invite anyone who wants to understand why we volunteer to come and spend time with us. Come and see why we are proud to be serving our community!
