Schools to open on 14 September
ATHENS. The Education Minister Niki Kerameos and Minister of the Interior Takis Theodorikakos officially announced at a joint press conference on Tuesday 1 September that schools will be opening on 14 September.
Also present at the press conference were the Government spokesperson Stelios Petsas, the President of the Greek Central Union of Municipalities (KEDE) Dimitris Papastergiou and Professor of Paediatric Infectious Diseases at Athens University Vana Papaevaggelou.
The Ministry of Education has already announced a series of measure for the safe opening of schools on 14 September. The extra measures will be strictly monitored.
The measures which have already been announced, and will probably be confirmed today, apply to all schools - from nursery school to high school and all specialist educational institutions.
As was previously announced, the Government will provide free cloth masks for all pupils and teachers both in public and private schools.
