Ambulance service employees donate food to vulnerable groups
CORFU. Corfu Municipality has given warm thanks to the Ambulance Service (EKAB) employees.
The Municipality has thanked the EKAB employees for their kind donation of food towards the daily support of over 340 needy families on the island.
The Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Municipal community shops and food banks, which are run in cooperation with New Horizons, aim to cover the basic needs of vulnerable groups (unemployed, homeless, immigrants, refugees, poor) throughout Corfu.
In combination with a complete programme of support, the aim is to reduce the risk of social isolation amongst these groups. The families that benefit from the community shops and food banks are chosen by the municipal welfare services and there are over 340 of them from throughout the island.
