Problems at Corfu Airport due to heavy rainfall

CORFU. Heavy rainfall all over the island.
Roads have been flooded in several areas in Corfu, turning them into fast-flowing rivers.
The water level has even increased at Corfu Airport, which is located next to the swollen Halkiopoulou Lagoon.
Due to poor visibility, at least seven aircraft have had problems landing since Thursday morning, according to Civil Aviation Employees Union President Dimitris Roussos. Most of them were international flights from UK, Ireland and Italy, which were forced to divert to Athens, Preveza and Bari.
