Wildfire in Argyrades brought under control

CORFU. The two PZL firefighting planes stationed at Corfu Airport took off and carried out water drops.
The response of the Fire Service was immediate, resulting in the rapid containment of the fire before it could spread. It was detected shortly after 18:00 on Wednesday in Argyrades. Five fire engines and personnel from EMODE were deployed. The two PZL firefighting aircraft based at Corfu AIrport also took off immediately and assisted in the extinguishing effort. No homes were at risk. The damage was limited to two stremma of burned land and three olive trees.
