Protest demonstration in support of Palestine
CORFU. In addition to the protest demonstration, the Palestinian flag was placed on a boat which was set afloat in the sea at Faliraki.
A protest demonstration in support of Palestine was held on Sunday, August 10, in many islands and tourist destinations in Greece. Among them was Corfu, where protesters gathered at 6:00 p.m. in Annunziata Square to express their opposition to the genocide of the Palestinian people.
In Corfu, in addition to the demonstration, protesters placed the flag of Palestine on a boat and then set it afloat in the sea at Faliraki, where this year’s Varkarola festival was to take place later.
Members of the Gaza Initiative also hung banners and a Palestinian flag on the walls above Faliraki.
