Contract signed for renovation and upgrade of North Corfu secondary school buildings

CORFU. Repair - replacement of fencing sections, replacement of frames and tiles, replacement of roofing sections, replacement of traditional lighting fixtures, installation of PVC flooring in the schoolyard, and more in school buildings.
After many years, the fencing of the Agros Junior High and High School is finally becoming a reality. The contract for significant renovation and upgrade works of secondary education school buildings in the Municipality of North Corfu has been signed, with a budget of €60,000, including VAT, funded by SATA and municipal resources.
A historic moment for the educational infrastructure of the Municipality of North Corfu was marked by the signing of the contract on March 12, for the execution of extensive renovation and upgrade works on the secondary education school buildings, following years of neglect and deterioration. Present at the signing were the Mayor of North Corfu, Giorgos Mahimaris, the President of the Municipal Council and Education Affairs Representative, Panayiotis Papadatos, and the contractor, Ioannis Galanis.
The signed contract includes extensive renovation works on school buildings, such as:
- Repair and replacement of fencing sections
- Replacement of frames and tiles
- Replacement of roofing sections
- Replacement of traditional lighting fixtures
- Installation of PVC flooring in school yards, among other improvements.
The works will begin immediately, starting with the fencing of the Agros Junior High and High School - an overdue project that is now finally being realised—along with other planned renovations. The next schools to follow are the Amfipagites Junior High and Kassiopi Junior High.
"The upgrade of school buildings is a strategic move to ensure the safety, hygiene and quality of learning conditions for our pupils," said Mayor Giorgos Mahimaris. "With this contract, we reaffirm our commitment to improving the quality of education by creating a safe, modern and functional environment for both pupils and educators."
This €60,000 project, funded by SATA and municipal resources, not only enhances the physical infrastructure of schools but also paves the way for a new era in education, strengthening the trust of the local community and parents.
