6th Mystery Event heads to Corfu! Vintage cars in Upper Square
CORFU. In the Upper Square today, Saturday 15/2, from 10:00 to 12:00 and on Sunday 16/2 from 10:00 to 14:00, when the Corfu Car Club will cut their New Year΄s cake.
The Mystery Event is a "Secret Event" organised by the Triskelion Club, focusing on vintage cars built before 1981.
Participants registered without knowing the final destination, and on the day of departure, they receive a sealed envelope or an SMS indicating the first meeting point.
On Friday morning, February 14th, the crews received a message stating that the first meeting point was the port of Igoumenitsa. A total of 20 cars set off from Athens, Thessaloniki, and other cities, with Corfu as their final destination.
The main part of the event will take place on Saturday, February 15th. The participating cars, along with several vintage vehicles from Corfu, will gather at Spianada Square at 10:00 AM. At 12:00 PM, they will begin a 115 km tour through northern Corfu, setting off one by one at one-minute intervals. The tour will conclude in Spianada Square in the afternoon.
The goal for participants is to follow the roadbook precisely, completing the route—including a one-hour stop—within five hours. The route includes scenic country roads passing through picturesque villages and coastal areas of the island.
On Sunday, February 16th, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the vintage cars, along with the event’s vehicles, will be displayed in a static exhibition in the square, open to the public. There will also be an awards ceremony for participants and the traditional New Year’s cake-cutting of the Corfu Car Club.
The event is organised by the Triskelion, E.L.I.A., and L.A.K. clubs, approved by the Hellenic Federation of Vintage Vehicles, and supported by the Municipality of Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands, as well as the Municipality of North Corfu.
