6th Arkoudilas Trail a great success with large number of runners

The 6th Arkoudilas Trail mountain running race was held in Lefkimmi with great success last Sunday.

A challenging race held on dirt roads with uphill and downhill stretches, set in nature and along the coastline. This race is one where everyone is a winner because effort matters more than victory and distinctions. It featured three different distances: one for schoolchildren, another for those content with 10 kilometres and a longer route of 22 kilometres for participants pushing their limits.

The event was excellently organised given the circumstances, with significant participation from boys, girls, men and women of all ages. There is a promise that the 7th Arkoudilas Trail in 2025 will be even better, as the race has now become an established tradition on the island, attracting runners from other regions as well.

As stated by the organisers on their official page:
"Every participant crossing the finish line is a hero in their own way, overcoming the challenges of the course and achieving personal goals. The racing community gathers to celebrate the spirit of camaraderie and adventure that defines the sport.

As the sun sets on the trail races, the final results are a testament to the human spirit and the love story with nature and competition."
