Charity endurance race with sea bikes
CORFU. The event will begin on 28 September from Corfu Port and will last five days.
The companies Hestia Glamping Greece and Corfu Property Finders are organising a charity endurance sea race with water sports bikes in Corfu. The race will feature well-known cyclists from the Cape Epic Mountain Bike race, who have accepted the challenge to test their endurance on sea bikes.
The event will begin on September 28th, from the port of Corfu and will last five days. The athletes will circumnavigate the island, covering approximately 195 kilometres. On the first day, they will sail from the port of Corfu to Kassiopi harbour. On the second day, they will sail from Kassiopi to Paleokastritsa. The next day, they will sail from Paleokastritsa to Kavos, and on October 2nd, they will sail from Kavos to the port of Corfu.
Throughout the race, there will be a sailing boat supporting the athletes. This is the only sailing boat adapted to be steered by a person with a disability, and it will be helmed by an individual who uses a wheelchair. Small events will take place at all the aforementioned stops, weather permitting.
The proceeds from the event will be distributed to the Corfu Regional Association of People with Disabilities, the Corfu Animal Protection Society (KEPZ), and the Black Caps cricket team.
