Lighthouse of Life 10th Anniversary – Become a Volunteer Donor - Saturday, September 14 at the Old Palace Colonnade
CORFU. On Saturday 14 September at 20:00 there will be an opportunity for whoever wishes to become a volunteer donor.
10 Years of Lighthouse of Life (Faros Zois) - 10 Years of Golden September... This is how we started, with this special event, filled with emotion and often pain... because September is the month of Awareness, Awakening and Information about Child Cancer.
A month when a building or monument is illuminated in gold, honouring the little hero fighters who have battled and become stars lighting up our sky, and those fighters who made it and continue to smile alongside their families... GOLDEN SEPTEMBER.
We are lighting up the Old Palace as a tribute to the little heroes. During the event, there will be information on the prevention of Child Cancer by Mr. Philopoulos, President of the Hellenic Cancer Society. As always, at every Lighthouse of Life event, Pathologist-Oncologist Evaggelos Douvelis and Biopathologist of Corfu General Hospital, Vassilis Andriotis will explain the importance of becoming a Bone Marrow Donor.
The help of everyone aged 18-45 to become a bone marrow donor is crucial because in cases such as leukemia, the compatibility within the family globally is only 30%. That's why hospitals always search for a compatible donor in the Global Donor Bank.
Saturday, September 14, at 8:00 p.m., is a great opportunity for anyone who wishes to become a Volunteer Donor, and maybe one day it will be YOU who gives a second chance at life to a child, to a fellow human being... You will be their gift.
