CORFU. Archbishop Nektarios speaks out about the Olympics opening ceremony.
The Archbishop of Corfu referred to current events, speaking from the pulpit on Sunday at St. Spyridon church. He mentioned the opening ceremony in Paris:
"There was uproar at the opening of the Olympic Games in France, where they presented the Antichrist as a blasphemer of the divine and an unnatural admirer, in front of the leaders of all member states, and unfortunately also before our own.
These individuals appeared to enjoy this disgrace and insult with great ease, something unprecedented in the history of these glorious Olympic Games, which have their origin in Ancient Olympia, and whose spirit was based on the teachings of the philosophers and the Stoics, in "Healthy mind in a healthy body".
We have a special responsibility, at least we as Greeks, who have left this spiritual legacy of our homeland and the Olympic spirit to the nations, both as an institution and as a cultural heritage.
Unfortunately, the representatives of this disgrace belong to the LGBTQ communities and various types of sodomitic lobbies, who consciously, with the blessings of the leaders of the member states, sought to humiliate and insult Christ and Hellenism.
That is why they chose such a globally significant event, that of the ancient Greek institution, to showcase their unnatural and abnormal desires, in order to convince the masses of their normalcy."
