Group coordinators meeting about Sustainable Urban Development Plan
CORFU. It was found that there is a need to extend the initial timeline to the end of November.
(Central Corfu Municipality) A meeting was held on Friday 17 November at the Maraslio Town Hall to discuss the progress of the thematic groups' work within the framework of the updating of the Sustainable Urban Development Strategy.
The meeting was attended by the Central Corfu Mayor and President of the Urban Authority Meropi Ydraiou, the Deputy Mayor of European Programmes, Development and Digital Governance Panayiota Tzanne, the Director of Planning and Development for the Municipality Evaggelos Pitsas, the coordinators of the thematic groups Konstantinos Tsoumanis, Nikolaos Triantos and Andreas Hatziandreou, and Thanasis Spiggos as representative of the Ionian Islands Management Authority.
The progress of the consultations with the bodies, the problems and the timeline for the completion of the thematic groups' work were discussed during the meeting.
It was found that, despite the tight deadline for the preparation of the Sustainable Urban Development Strategy's submission, there is a need to extend the initial timeline until the end of November, while it was requested that the possibility for the bodies to participate in the work of the thematic groups be intensified, where little participation was observed.
The Urban Authority is cooperating with the Ionian Islands Managment Authority in order to contribute to the best possible preparation of the proposal for the Sustainable Urban Development Strategy update.
